Critical raw materials for Europe has been identified as one of the top ten issues to watch in 2021, according to a special report by the European Parliamentary Research Service (EPRS). The annual report sees policy analysts identify the most relevant issues.
The report describes critical raw materials as a 'fundamental prerequisite to achieving the main goals of the EU' and presses the importance of the EU securing safe and sufficient access to them.
The European Raw Materials Alliance is identified as an important initiative for addressing supply chain issues, technology and skills shortages and finding opportunities for investment, innovation and infrastructure.
