Launch event of the OECD Mining Regions and Cities Case of Västerbotten and Norrbotten, Sweden

The OECD and the Regional Governments of Västerbotten and Norrbotten, Sweden are preparing to host an online event launching a study into how the regions can build on their competitive advantage to address current and future challenges to support a resilient approach to sustainable mining.

Both sub-regions hold the largest mining reserves in the country, providing 90% of iron ore in the EU. The event will be a chance to share the main OECD recommendations of the case study, inviting regional politicians, representatives, industry and academic experts to share their views on the recommendations.
